Enrico Marotti
Two-time IFCA World Champion, PWA World Tour podium finisher, and founder of the Marotti Windsurfing Center. The first athlete in Croatian history to win a windsurfing world title.
“I don't think that I am fast enough. I am extremely fast, but not enough. If someone thinks that he is fast, he will never become faster. So I am not fast enough — I will never be fast enough.”

From Volosko to the world stage
Born in Rijeka, Enrico grew up in Volosko — a small fishing village near Opatija with more than 250 windy days per year. From the terrace of his family house, he watched sailors at Preluka Bay for hours as a child and decided this would become his life.
At age 8, he started sailing at the Opatija Sailing Club in the Optimist class, going on to race over 100 regattas. He then moved to the Laser class — 50+ regattas and a 3rd place overall in the Europa Cup Laser 4.7. But everything changed in 2006, when he stepped onto a windsurfing board for the first time:
“The moment I felt the board beneath my feet and the sail in my hands, I knew I found my passion.”
He never looked back. Within two years he won his first Croatian National Championship — the first of 15+. By 2011 he was ranked #1 in the world by IFCA, and in 2012 he made his PWA World Tour debut. In 2014 he became the IFCA European Slalom Champion — the first Croatian windsurfer to win a European title.
His competitive career spans over 15 years at the highest level. As a two-time IFCA World Champion with multiple PWA World Tour podium finishes and event victories, he has been through every possible situation on the water — and turned each one into a lesson.
From champion to coach
What sets Enrico apart from other coaches is his obsession with understanding WHY — not just what to do on the water.
The Focus Point Method
Since 2016, Enrico has worked weekly with sports psychologist Nenad Karabaic, meticulously analyzing every segment of his technique. Every detail is written down, studied, and refined into what he calls "focus points" — short, powerful reminders that guide actions on the water.
This isn't a collection of tips. It's a complete interconnected system of 138 focus points that build on each other — every explanation comes from real experience, coaching hundreds of sailors, and the unique ability to explain complex movements in a way that makes sense.
How coaching became a calling
In 2019, encouraged by experienced windsurfers at his Volosko spot, Enrico organized his first slalom clinic. The feedback was overwhelming. Participants couldn't believe the depth of detail and how quickly they saw improvement.
“I learned a lot from my first windsurfing clinic, I really did. I discovered that I truly enjoy it, that I have something to say and something to teach people. I realized that people enjoy and appreciate the knowledge I have.”
That first clinic was the spark that eventually led to the book and WindCoach. For Enrico, coaching became more than a sideline — it became a calling:
“Each new windsurfer from my center makes me as happy as winning any title.”

What windsurfers say
“The first slalom clinic exceeded all of my expectations. I realized that an entire lifetime is dedicated to everything we receive. The results were visible very quickly and constantly improved.”
“He unhesitantly shared his entire knowledge and methods derived from years of experience. He boosts our confidence and motivates us for further progress. I would never expect that from an active PWA sailor currently fighting for championship.”
Windsurfer's Mindset
Published in 2025, "Windsurfer's Mindset — The Most Powerful Piece of Equipment" is the complete system: 3 chapters covering Planing & Foot Straps, Reaching with Fin, and the Jibe. 138 focus points with 500+ sequence learning photos.
“I don't know how to write a book, but I do know how to windsurf at a high level, and most importantly, I know exactly how I got to that level.”

Marotti Windsurfing Center
Founded in 2019 by Enrico and Nika in Volosko, Opatija — one of the most consistent wind spots in the Adriatic with 250+ windy days per year. What started from a trailer with three school boards has grown into a thriving windsurfing community with over 200 sailors on the water each morning.
The tramontana wind creates perfect planing conditions from 5 AM until 9 AM — foil or fin, your choice. After each morning session, all windsurfers gather for coffee and talk about windsurfing for hours. It's a special atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
The center offers windsurfing instruction for all levels, windfoiling, wingfoiling, stand-up paddling, and more — always with top-end equipment and a passion that goes beyond teaching. Over 50 beginners have been trained into independent windsurfers through the center.
